Abortion support falls sharply, new research finds — Richard Allen Greene — CNN — October 1, 2009

Out of all of the people, the amount of people supporting abortion is stating to wane, while the quantity of people who oppose abortion is raising. A telephone survey of more than 4,000 adults in August 2009, shows that 45% of the people interviewed were against abortion, while 47% of the people interviewed were for abortion. Accounting for the percentage of error, that leaves about a 50-50 tie for supporting and opposing abortion. Last years toll showed a 41%-54% ratio respectively (the 41% are those opposed and the 54% are those who are for abortion). “These data suggest that a number of people have changed their minds in the past year,” said Gregory Smith of the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life. As you can obviously see, if the traits follow this same rate of increase and decrease, then those opposed to abortion will far outweigh those who believe that abortion should be legal. Within the most recent survey, 4/10 of the people couldn’t even tell President Obama’s opinion of the subject. Four out of ten of the people didn’t know that Obama is fully against abortions. In 1973 the Supreme Court ruling Roe v. Wade effectively legalized abortion in the United States. “The Supreme Court, the country’s main legal battleground on abortion, has ruled only once on the hot-button subject since 1992, in a close 2007 decision that upheld federal restrictions on a controversial late-term abortion procedure called ‘partial birth abortion’ by its opponents.” According to data compiled by the Alan Guttmacher Institute in 2005, about 1.21 million women got abortions. The Hope of the pro-life movement as well as President Obama, is to greatly reduce the number of abortions.
