Political Correctness
This craziness needs to stop.
I’m against it!!! Political correctness is just a crock. It has taken away our ability to laugh at ourselves as human beings, it has made us afraid to speak for fear of offending someone. To heck with it, I say. Frankly, the word “offended” is overused. People seem to be so easily offended these days. Well I say, “Get over it.” Easily offended people are weak. They have no backbone or character. The only time a person should be offended is if someone else looks them straight in the eye and says “you’re ugly,” or “you’re fat,” or “you’re stupid.” THOSE, my friends, are offensive comments because they attack a person directly. Things like music, religion, politics, or the word “God” certainly do not fall into the category of offense. Who created the idea of political correctness? I’ll tell you who. People who wanted to control other people. Face it, political correctness is a method of controlling what people say, when and where they say it. Hey, if I don’t like your music – I turn the radio off. If I don’t like your political shows – I turn the channel. If I don’t like your religion – I ignore it. I don’t let these things bother me and I especially do not consider them offensive. Political correctness is nothing more than passive aggressive suppression. I ignore political correctness. I love ethnic jokes, that’s because I know how to laugh at myself. I love religious jokes, that’s because I know how to laugh at myself. I love sexist jokes, that’s because I know how to laugh at myself. I love blonde jokes, that’s because I’m not blond. If you don’t know how to laugh at yourself then you have no right telling jokes at all. People are funny – we are funny – we are all the same.
