Politics Gets in The Way of Reality
A look at the two party system and what it means for us as Americans.
Politics Gets In the Way of Reality
Of course hard work gets you ahead in life. Why is hard work considered Conservative nowadays and laziness Liberal? Let’s say I am lazy and a Liberal. That does not mean that all liberals are lazy. It means that I am lazy. Yet we have this artificial dichotomy of people given two choices of which belief system to follow and which political party to support.
The most recent political debate has become whether to support a government health care option or not. We have plenty of money for any wars that need to be fought but yet we can not pay for a government option in health care. That would be socialism which must be defined as doing anything nice and unselfish for anyone using tax dollars. Also Medicare is already a government run health care program which is widely popular among those using its services yet these are some of the same people complaining that they don’t want government to be a part of running health care for them.
People want to become a member of the elite class, the wealthy class. This is the mechanism by which they are brought to support the class system and not health care reform. If the elite class is eliminated, no one can achieve the elite class status. They will never be a member of the few and the special. Of course in all likelihood they will never reach that class regardless. The American Dream ( or fiction ) if you look into it enough is actually to achieve a middle class lifestyle through hard work. It is not to achieve the elite or wealthy class status. To achieve that class requires an extra special something or perhaps even luck.
Politics is created to divide us so that we can be controlled. As Howard Zinn mentions in his A People’s History of the United States, anger is deflected from one party to the other and thereby it is deflected away from the wealthy and to a system in which both parties support the wealthy class as the system is inherently designed.

I have Howard Zinns book, ” A peoples history of the united states.” It should be a required book for all people who want to know the truth about our government system. He tells it like it is. It is NOT simply another History book. It is far more than that. I love the book. He uncovers all the lies and corruptions of those who have ruled since America was discovered.
