Postal Hike
My gripe about increase mail delivery costs for 2009.
I wonder why not one person hasn’t suggested that the guy who lives out of the way should pay for the added fuel costs to have the comfort of postmodern mail deliveries and the guy in the city should be left alone. Urban dwellers have already been paying for technological advances. It’s a lame excuse as is the excuse to provide an plastic card with a memory chip that is a tremendous inconveniences when automatic turnstiles are on the blink and came to over 3 bucks. If there need to be an increase because of inflation that is another matter but so far until the recession, the Canadian dollar hadn’t been doing too badly against its American counterpart.
There used to be a separate tariff for printed matter and that meant something from a printed press and not handwritten. I thought that was fair because it was material, which used to be sent bulk but recently there was a shift to the idea that everything goes by weight and letter size and that is that and so the cost has increased when it comes to sending a printed booklet or newspaper. Now we’ll also be paying for improved technological standards. I would like to see what new standards they are because computer displays have been in for years as is the method of having you sign on some sort of electronic board when you receive a package to your door.
