Pot Smoking Makes for Dummies
by Pot smoking is acceptable by some, but not the truly educated. Long-term effects of pot are more damaging than most know.

As a young person, sure I tried pot also known as marijuana. We coughed and could not stand the taste, but the high was fun. With no concept of legal verses illegal drugs and their effects on the body, I had a nice long talk with my grandmother. She told me about dope. She said dope is called dope because it is another term for a dummy or a stupid person. I was told not to ever start sniffing glue or smoking because if I became addicted I would regret it the rest of my life.
Waling home from elementary school in the 1950’s, I found some model airplane glue in the bushes. I picked it up and it smelled so good. I was about eight years old and did not even know what this was.
There are many more drugs in use today which are powerful enough to take your life with first use. Legal drugs have been studied as have their effects on the human body. Illegal drugs are a guess as to what they will or can do to your insides.

In junior high school, I made some popular friends who encouraged me to drink Vodka at slumber parties. We passed around a bottle that a parent had purchased. I wonder if that mother or father even knew what we were doing late at night and early in the mornings. We climbed out windows and walked the neighborhoods being intoxicated. Any car could have come along and run over us. We did not even care.
After the Vietnam war, pot use spread in America. Many soldiers used it over there and brought their habits home. Did you ever stop to think about what second hand pot smoke does to a small baby?
Recently, a young couple told me their friends had a new infant at home. The father was blowing pot smoke in that baby’s face. Well I thought to myself, it is a sad day in America again. For parents that are high cannot possibly take proper care of an infant when they are stoned for impaired judgement sets in shortly after the marijuana is smoked. Users tell you it is a good drug and causes them to be mellow or calm. If they become addicted, with long term use, they are unable to stop.
I personally knew of two teachers of our American school children who are pot heads. How can they be examples to children who want to learn something? One of them was breast feeding her two infants.
Pot causes lung,heart and brain damage that is irreversible.. It causes memory problems and suboptimal intellect.
AA and NA work and they are free programs for those who need to or want to quit. But legalizing it may be a mistake. Do you want the person next to you and your family driving a car, truck or semi truck with impaired judgement or while having hallucinations?

A wonderful article about how pot can hurt and cripple your mind and body. Every teenager should have to read this. Maybe some will, and think about it.

This is ignorant prohibitionist propaganda that continues to plague this country with misinformation, fueling the restriction of nothing more than a tropical plant that grows from mother Earth. Don’t read this article. Most of it is simply not true. No component of Cannabis Sativa has ever been linked to brain damage, other than in similar prohibitionist articles with no scientific evidence to base it upon. And there is a recent study that shows that THC, the active ingredient in the Cannabis plant, actually stimulates the death of mutated cells rather than cancerous spreading and developing of tumors like in tobacco smoke. Get your facts straight, and next time you publish an article, I hope you base it upon facts and not your personal opinions. And truthfully, most potheads I have talked to are actually more intelligent than you, Brenda Kay Winters.

Trevin, yes there are research projects that show pot is physically and psycologically damaging. I knew a man who killed a whole family in a boating accident because he was high on just pot when I worked as a jail Nurse.Why is it illegal? I knew a woman who was so addicted she breast fed her infant while on pot, not caring what her child suffered like second hand smoke. I also knew a man who gave up a job that pays 50,000 a year because he could not get of pot. it is addicting and recent studies in the USA show that pot causes mental illness if used for a long time. I do not know you so how could you judge my IQ? God bless and go on and smoke for your free will or health is none of my business. I just know many wish they had never started smoking anything at all.
