Poverty Alliviation
Nations that starve.
The word progress and the notion that some nations in the world have reached technological advancement is an anachronism when we closely analyse their status with regard to poverty alliviation. The socalled developed countries seems to have more of it as a ratio to their status claimed as developed when compared with the poorer nations that are developing or underdeveloped. Some statistics even in the north Americas indicate that child poverty is on the rise as compared to the situation two or three decades ago. How can a nation go on putting itself high on the list of developed nations when it has a high percentage of children who are not in a position to obtain a fair meal for a day, leave alone other setbacks regarding shelter, clothing and education. Should the political leaders of such nation go for huge conferences held in other parts of the world where poverty alleviation in developing countries and child poverty in other nations are criticised for not receiv ing their Governments attention?
Has it become obvious that some of the developed nations are heading for disastrous circumstances with regard to child ponography and lack of attention to educational facilities for children to absorb basic religious knowledge. It is very disheartening to note that developed nations have also increased their gap between the rich and the poor. The richest of the rich continue to get richer and richer by leaps and bounds even with the recession while the poor in most developed nations have had hardly any chance of getting rich.
The socalled developed countries hate to look at poverty because they consider it a shame. It has come to a stage where developed countries are deliberately hiding their poverty lines without exposing too much to the world in order to maintain their status. But the day will come soon where there would be an outburst of poverty implications that may not have the chance of remedial action as it would have exceeded the level of global parity. That means the developed nation will have greater percentage of poverty as compared with developing or underdeveloped countries. Which eventually means that all the various discriptions that are known and attributed to such countries like progress, technological advancement, super powers will have no significance when you have poverty overflowing in the backyard.
And a more important feature about this phenomenon will a facing a situation that would worse than terrorism. Because nations have to deal with their own citizens and not outsiders.
