Pregnant Teens Become a Trend

“Pull out. Ok. I can do that.” William and Ashley wanted a night to remember, a night that would be a memory forever. William and Ashley ended up having a baby together and altering their college plans. William worked full time at a restaurant, while Ashley still looks for a job.

There is a 90% chance of a sexually active teen getting pregnant who does not use contraceptive use.

The majority of sexually experienced teens (74% of females and 82% of males) used contraceptives the first time they had sex.

Currently as each year that goes by , nearly one million teens in the US of all 15-19 year old females become pregnant. Some people believe that the reason leading to this is the lack of education in schools.

In the early 50’s, a stigma was almost a law when it came to girls getting pregnant. Many parents would send their daughters away in shame.

“When I first had sex, the guy was defiantly three years older than me. I loved him but I don’t know if he loved me, said Olivia Green a caretaker at South County Habilitation center.

Due to the lack of contraceptives in the early 60’s, scientist have increased the use of birth control. The pill was a more popular method to control pregnancy in the early 90’s. Today there are so many different methods to control unwanted pregnancies that parents are stating that teens are getting pregnant on purpose.

“I thought that having a baby would make me feel better, make me feel like I was loved, but it only made things harder for me.” Anonymous.

The general perception is that teens get pregnant on purpose, because of the lack of love in their lives. Here are a few of the options for birth control, birth control patch, diaphragm, implants, injectables, etc. Most of these methods are 99.9% effective. There is only one method that is 100% and that is absence.

Overall only the teens who are receiving scrutiny know the real reasons why so many are having sex and getting pregnant. Perhaps with this evidence steps can be taken to make preventions. To all with knowledge practice safe sex.
