Proposition Eight or Proposition Hate?

Proposition 8 was a California State ballot proposition that would amend the state Constitution and would take away gay rights. It overturned a recent California Supreme Court decision that would recognize same-sex marriage in California as a fundamental right.

The slogan for Prop. 8 was “Eliminates Right of Same-sex Couples to marry.” The vote was 52.2% in favor of Prop. 8 and 47.5% were against it with a difference of around 504,000 votes!

The Mormon church has donated around $22 million to Proposition 8.

The church does not support gay rights in any way. Once Proposition 8 was passed it made gays into what you would call second-class citizens.

Where in the Constitution were there little tiny microscopic parentheses stating “Everyone has rights, except gays and be sure to exclude them from the right to be married.” What kind of people do we have running our country when something so simple as having the privilege to love freely is being banned? When was there such a thing as “too much” freedom?

Yes gays have came a far way but we haven’t made it all the way to the finish line yet. One thing is for certain,no matter who is against the idea of gay rights  gays will not “lie low”.One wonders to himself if there truly will ever be a life long truce brought to the table for gays.  I probably won’t live to see the day that homophobia is no longer a conflict between people and being able to communicate.

I’m sorry but Homosexuality IS a sin! God still loves the homosexual, but he HATES the sin. I as a christian DO NOT support marriage rights for gays. It is NOT natural. This country was started and founded by CHRISTIANS, set up to be a society governed by laws that came from God. Should that bother someone, they should feel free to buy a ticket to any other country of their choice. Homosexuality is a choice, chosing to do wrong does not mean people should be given protection or rights. Pedophiles and child molesters have argued that they are born that way. That they should have the right to love, and have sex with whom they choose. They want freedom, equal rights, and protection. You can call me a racist, homophobic, hate monger, that is fine. I do NOT hate anyone, I love everyone. I pray for those who are caught up and trapped by this world and sin. However, loving someone doesn’t mean condoning everything they do. I love my children, but I don’t let them just do as they please. Telling them they can’t do something, or that something they have done is wrong, does not mean I hate them. I wish you luck, I am happy you are confident in who you are. I do pray for you and hope that you will allow God to show you truth.
