Racism Against Latinos in Hazleton

This is something I found and I felt like I should share Americas stupidity, ignorance, and lack of education.

I am a Puerto Rican, born and raised in NYC. I know and have all kinds of friends, whether they are White, Black, Hispanis, Guayanese, Chinese, illegal or not. I am just speechless as I learn more about the nonsence, and how strong racism still is in certain parts of the Country. It’s not only against illegal immigrants because ignorance in bliss, and they couldn’t tell the difference between a Puerto Rican and a Mexican,El Salvadorian, Brazilian, or the difference between a dark skinned Hispanic from an African American, etc…. When will they see that we are all human. We all have families, jobs, and there are bad seeds in every race, that do the wrong thing. There is a bad seed in every race.. This is 2008. America is filled with all kinds of beautiful races, cultures and what not. Racism comes in all colors as well, I heard some one say this before about White people, “They could kill, rape and enslave as they pleased because of fear. Not because they were better or smarter, because if they were smarter the white woman would do their own house work instead of being lazy and maybe then her man would not have stepped out on her with the black woman and create a mixed baby!!”  I now live in Hazleton, and i think what they are doing and the way they are acting is “Loco”.They are talking about illegals living off of the tax payers money with welfare and SSI but I bet if you step into a welfare office or a SSI office you’ll see Whites, Hispanics, African American, Chinese, etc.. Some people do take advantage of this programs, but do not single out one race.

This is the land of the free, and I do not believe that any one should be ” thrown out of the USA”, unless it’s a criminal matter. There are some “illegals” that actually come here to work and who are very respectful. They know what it is to survive. they lose one job they go to the next. The same person that made the statement I posted previously also made this statement, which I thought was a bit “Loco” “The white man loses his business and its the end of the world for him then he goes to the hood for his crack and heroin, I bet you he loves the “minorities” then!!”. Karen Gallegher from Hazleton states, ” I fears for my mothers safety because of the big bad Hispanics coming in from the City”, news flash, no one is interested in your mother or any other racist person out here. We are living happily while you are pulling your hair out about the Hispanic population growing in Hazleton. Silly really. Knowing what we know, we should be the ones scared of them, they just might come burning our houses down or crosses on our lawn screaming ” White Race!!!!”

But we are not cause we are strong, and we will make it. The haters are the ones who make Hazleton a terrible place to live, not the Hispanics.
