Racism in America

America is has its share of racism, too much in fact. In this article I will address some examples of racism that take place in America. The article is based up on researched facts, observations, and some opinion. I only wish to speak the truth, and if by chance made a mistake that you can back up with evidence, please let me know. Thank you.

You know, if you look at one side of the leaf, one could say that our founding fathers were hypocrites, saying that all men were created equal, yet do nothing about the slavery of African Americans right here at home. Then, almost one hundred years later, when Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, we African Americans were finally free in some places. However, for some reason, African Americans were still looked down upon, and even though by the end of the civil war, slavery had ended in the United States, it only gave birth to an era of segregation, one that has never really left America. There are those racist extremists here in America like the Ku Klux Klan, and there are ordinary people who are just racist against not only blacks, but other races as well. Many white Americans are racist to other races because of one particular reason; the thought of white supremacy. Now I’ve written the following based on facts, observations, and some opinion. When I talk about white supremacy, I’m not saying that all whites are racist, but rather a good majority of them, even if they deny it. Another thing I want to note is that even though from my observations, whites have a tendency to be more racial than any other, there are those from other races who are racist against others as well.

To start off, the idea of white supremacy in the United States stretched back as far as the beginning of the American colonies. Since the earliest Americans were Europeans, they had inherited much modern technology that only renowned countries in Europe possessed. A result of this was an air of in superiority Europeans and America’s shared over other lesser countries, one being Africa. The Americans even went so far as to say that they were helping the Africans by taking them from their homes of jungles, huts, spears, and other primitive things, and introducing them to modern civilization. There would be nothing wrong with this, if they didn’t introduce it to them through slavery. It’s like looking at a lush green meadow full of wonderful things through prison bars. Americans thought of Africans as lower being for many reasons; their style of living, their dramatically different culture, and their religion being something other than Christianity.

Wow, this is a little biased, but it’s true, and I like it.
