Racist Attacks in Australia

Why Students of Indian origin?

Experts and panelists are having a field day arguing about the recent attacks  and deaths of Indian students in Australia. The education industry in Australia is close to 49 billion dollars which is growing every year . I believe that in order to analyse the reasons behind these attacks,  we must take a look at the current global recession and the apparent success of third world students in developed countries.

We cannot deny that most Indian students use their student visas as a foothold into  the job market of a developed  nation  and their eventual settlement and citizenship of that country only increases the locals ire. The local job seekers find themselves in a weaker position as these foreign students are better educated, more suitably qualified and are willing to work in a similar job profile for lesser pay, causing loss of income and loss of job opportunity for the locals .

As the Indian student community prospers,  the Australian youth have turned violent as they watch their best jobs being taken away by students of Indian origin,  it is  a bid to scare away existing and future students from developing countries. The primary reason as to  why Indian origin students are being targeted,  is because they are comparatively less aggressive and refuse to put a wrong foot with the law as they fear that, they will lose their visa status .

My suggestion to these racist attacks are :

1. Provide a quota for locals at the local job centers

2. Ensure that local candidates with similar experience and qualifications are not rejected because they refuse to accept a lower pay.

3. Free or cheaper technical  workshops for locals so they are professionally at par in the global job market.

My advice to  Students of Indian Origin is :

Don’t go to a country which cant  safeguard you, please take your parents hard earned money somewhere else , the trauma is not worth it.

As bad as it may seem it is actually decreasing. There has been less racism attacks in the past decade (2000-2009) then in anyother recorded decade.

I think people in Australia tempt to compare themselves with those in countries like Srilanka where outsiders especially Indian tamils claimed for their own territory and waged a war under LTT leadership. There are many other countries in the world like UK where outsiders intrude into their country, establish their existence, become their citizens and share their opportunites. If any discretionary treatment is made by their government or the citizens, then the issue becomes racial attracting attention from all over the world. In such case the government and citizens come under pressure from the world community to provide all opportunities to people from outside.
