Rapid Development: Threat to Local Population
1st world countries facing a future crisis of locals being taken over by migrant population.
Is rapid development a threat to local human population? We see it everywhere. When a country is developing rapidly, the local population seems to go down over the years. Say, the United Arab Emirates for example. The population of their locals is only 18%. The rest are migrant workers mostly from India and the Philippines. The locals have become the minority.
What are some consequences to this? Well first, the local culture is threatened because of the migrants’ accustomed habits and practices. Then second, the locals become lazier as they hire and hire cheap labor from other countries to do jobs for them. Third, everywhere you look you see people that do not represent the country’s supposed look.
So what should a country do? Should a country slow the pace of their development? Should they be stricter in regulating migration by tightening visa regulations? A country with much wealth can only think of developing its infrastructures and other investments that require more and more manpower. It will be a challenge to convince the business sectore to regulate profitable investments and structure developments.
Another thing is, when a country is 1st world, they think of having less children. The lesser the better. It is ironic since they have much resources. Even enough to feed a dozen kids. The first world mentality is to go through life with lesser mouths to feed and boost their career as high as possible. While in the third world, you often hear of families having 10 children, but can barely support each of them in their daily food and their education. So, naturally the 3rd world produces manpower for the 1st world. But the danger is that the 3rd world migrants may soon take over the population of the host country.
I believe that “people are the true wealth of a nation.” There are a lot who advocate artificial birth control in the third world countries. Is their intention really to help the country in its poverty situation? Or are they afraid of a population take over in the future. That’s what happened on “Innocents’ Day” when the Egyptians killed the first born baby Jews to regulate their population explosion. The tiny baby in the womb is life. These artificial birth controls have killed the lives of millions all over the world.
So what do we do with rapid development? Not to mention the devastating environmental impact of the CO2 emmissions caused by the construction of infrastructures and manufacturing of products. I think that local population should start rethinking how they can manage to raise their population and preserve their race. Because 100 years down the line, the ratio of migrants and locals can become pretty slim, almost zero. Next, a cultural shift has to be done in terms of encouraging more children for the local 1st world population. Instead of highlighting career, highlight family life and a joyful abundant society. Lastly, regulate C02 emmissions, because if not, one day there will be no one left in this world when mother nature has had it.
