Reformed Marijuana Laws

My opinion on reformed marijuana laws, and specific states (such as my own) that oppose them.

Have you ever  been so sick that you couldn’t move? So sick that you couldn’t eat, or even keep water down? Have you ever been so depressed that you wanted to die? Do you have concentration issues such as ADD and ADHD? If you were told that there was a single medication that could help every single one of these things, plus more, you’d think everyone would be all for it, right? Wrong. Many people don’t realize the fact that marijuana is the miracle medicine. It does much more good than bad. Yet it is still classified in the same category as meth, heroin, cocaine, and such. The truth is, that marijuana kills less people every year than alcohol, cigarettes, obesity, heart disease, strokes, and anything else you can think of. The number of people who die every year from marijuana? ZERO. Now, on an economical note, the marijuana business would be booming. Many other industries would benefit too, and more jobs would become available. Manufacturing would sky rocket… Seeing as how the plants themselves would have to be grown, tended, and harvested. Hemp and hemp products would see a larger rise if more marijuana was being grown. Not to mention a large rise in the food industry. It is said that marijuana has over 400 chemicals in it…. However, the majority of those chemicals are unknown. How can you say there are so many chemicals in something, if you don’t even know what they are?

The politicians in today’s society aren’t in touch with the people. They don’t know the needs of their citizens that they have dedicated their lives to helping. They are out of touch with the normal people. The people who often work underpaid in order to survive, the real working machine and foundation of this country. Over 14.4 MILLION Americans aged 12 and up have reportedly smoked marijuana at least once a month. This is a very large amount, about 2 million more than the population of Illinois. So I ask you this: Who are these mindless, faceless politicians to tell us how to live, what we can smoke, how we can spend our free time? It’s obvious that marijuana helps cancer patients and other terminal illnesses, so who’s to say it can’t cure many other sicknesses and ailments?

I’m attempting to get a campaign together for reformed marijuana laws. If you are interested in joining the cause, please email me at kayleemaw1991@gmail.com. and please title the subject as reformed marijuana laws.
