Regulations Boo Whooo

We have them as rules of conduct; Here is an example of one of those rules the glass steeple act induced in the 1930s that wouldn’t allow Wall Street to buy up smaller banks and kept them separate from main street so even if they failed it couldn’t bring down the rest of the system with it. If those regulations would have still been in place we could have let wall street gone bankrupt with out the bail out. Labor laws in the early 1900s president Theodore Roosevelt signed a law that wouldn’t allow children to work in factories where many of them were hurt or killed doing labor in these sweat shops. president Roosevelt believed these children should be in school instead of working. Labor laws also paved the way for unions like the UAW and the Teamsters and others too; And don’t forget OSHA that enforces safety rules that keep employers from doing things that increase our chances of getting hurt or even killed on the job. And there’s also time and a half for overtime Do we really want to do away with minimum wage and time and a half? Ok The E P A they deal with hazardous chemicals over and beyond OSHA they restrict the way we dispose of chemicals so it won’t sweep in to the ground and into our drinking water or breathed in by us. Here are a few examples of poisonous chemicals that will kill you if didn’t have protective clothes on and will kill animals as well as people hydrogen cyanide gas; Dioxin;Asbestos; There are thousands of chemicals that will hurt you, Maybe one day we will have a base on the moon that we can store things that are hazardous to us or we’ll find ways to make  products with out the danger of chemicals, We need both labor and envotmental laws or regulations to keep us out of harms way;And prevent another BP disaster or worse or didn’t we learn from that? Or the mining disaster that Massey caused because they didn’t follow safety rules. I know people can work over 40 hours a week;I’ve work 84 as my highest but could you do that for weeks in a row and not have your body break down? And would you do that if all they were paying you was straight time or less then minimum wage? The G O P has said of we get rid of minimum wage there were be a lot of jobs they might be right jobs that make the rich richer and allow them to work us to death worse.Are you willing to bet your life and families lives that they will act ethically I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t vote for anyone who wants to throw away the rules by deregulating every thing we have done that it was a mistake we can’t afford to repeat that mistake by putting The G O P In charge nothing they do works 2008 proves that.
