Relatives of Victims of The Attacks of 11 September 2001 Refused Compensation, Demanding Justice
United States to compensate relatives of seven billion dollars to victims of 11 September 2001 attacks, but one family has not asked for compensation following the attacks.
Ten years after the attacks that targeted the World Trade Centerand Pentagon, relatives of victims have received a total of over seven billion dollars. But of the 2977 victims of the attacks, one family has not asked for compensation, informs ABC News.
In total, 2983 families of those who died demanded compensation, receiving on average two million dollars.
In addition, 2,300 people who had respiratory problems after the attacks have received $ 400,000 each.
Ninety-four families who have lost one person attempts to agree to opt out of compensation fund, deciding to sue the authorities inManhattan. Of these, 93 families (of the 94) resolved the dispute inthe past five years.
One family, Bavis, and now the process continues. Bavis family inMassachusetts, will continue the lawsuit against New York City andUnited Airlines on September 19. The applicant, Mary Bavis, MarkBavis is his mother, who was in the United Airlines flight 175 when the plane hit one of the World Trade Center towers.
Bavis family said he is not interested in money, but wants justice.”From the first moment, my family wanted accountability andexplanations about what happened, but I have not got anything,”said Mike Bavis, attacks the victim’s brother.
