Roller Coaster Seats on an Airplane?
Things just got worse for you economy flyers.
Things just got worse for you folks who fly economy. A new line of seats called “SkyRider,” very similar to those on roller coasters, are proposed to be installed in replacement of airplane seats.
These new seats will decrease the amount of leg room each passenger has by 7 inches, which means a grand total of 27 inches of leg room per passenger. That’s got to be terrible.
The main target for these seats are budget airlines, such as Ryanair in the UK. Ryanair also aiming to get rid of co-pilots, because they don’t matter at all, right? There’s got to be a safety law that’s being violated somewhere…
Ryanair is also thinking about having a “standing” room for passengers that offers tickets for 5 pounds. Really? Standing the whole time during a flight? I didn’t know that was legal either. Last I flew, which was sometime in June 2010, there was a “Fasten Seatbelt” light that comes on during more serious flight situations. Ryanair should be able to explain how one fastens a seatbelt when standing.
