Selfishness as Roots of Corruption

What defines selfishness? I hope everyone has a good answer as to why we have greedy people and generous ones. Good that I’m not going to talk about selfishness of bread or minor possessions, better move ahead and talk about politics and greedy minded politicians.

Well, it is not easy to understand the mind of a politician, or even guess the next move he/she might make in dealing with an issue. Given the chance, the politician will always act smart, mostly acting without thinking over something and the consequences of taking a particular stand. So how smart is smart for politicians? In general, acting forgetful and denying what they said or have done and calling up back up from other like minded politicians, is a game they like playing with people’s minds.

Even though people are aware of this little fishy games, they give their support to selfish politicians and in so doing, giving them a better chance to keep lying and hiding from reality.

Most of selfish politician have a nesting place in Africa, breeding corruption and building a foundation- not free from but full of corruption. The leading character before doing an act (corruption) is being selfish, caring about self and people in association, then the returns of corrupt deals goes to the supporter- people who elect selfish minded politicians.

As we all know, we need leaders who can listen to our grievances and try their level best to ease our grief. They know these too, that is why they come up with empty promises. They know exactly where to touch to make their marionettes (people) dance to their lies and sing to their tune of corruption. Unless we check on their back ground, we are bound to keep watching a 4×100 relay of corruption as we spectate and carry the trophy of regrets.

The most dangerous thing in the life of a politician is an Inquiring Question. Of course they never like anyone snooping in their political affairs and businesses, they would do anything to block such kind of intrusion, even if it means going to court of law. By the way, this is just a measure to buy time to destroy any evidence that can incriminate them.

Imagine a situation where the governing constitution is laid in hands of selfish leaders for rectification and alterations, wouldn’t they be targeting those clause that can be deemed a hard nut to crack or firewall for their corrupt deals? Very likely, in order to make a favoring law when they happen to have a case to answer. That is how corruption is spread.
