Seven Ways to Stop Global Warming

by Grim Reaper in Issues, June 26, 2007

Follow these seven simple rules and we might be able to save our planet.

With every passing day, we are getting closer to the world’s greatest crisis. Global Warming. By 2040, the ice caps will have melted and giant tsunamis and floods will strike coastlines all over the earth. By doing some of the following 7 things which seem insignificant, we might still be able to save our world.

  1. When going from one place to another, try to use other means of transportation than your car. Going by bike or walking wouldn’t only keep the air clean, but would also keep you healthy. When traveling over long distances try to use public transportation.
  2. Instead of using the air conditioner all the time, leave a window open and get a fresh breeze. Then again don’t do both things at once, since that’s just a waste.
  3. Try to save energy by replacing regular light bulbs by energy-saving bulbs. Although they might cost more, this is a good way to stop global warming.
  4. If you’re one of those people that take really long showers, try to reduce that time since it takes a lot of energy to heat the water
  5. When you’re not using your computer, turn it off or at least put it on sleep. If you’re about to buy a computer try to buy one which uses low energy and automatically switches to low power mode after a while.
  6. Another thing about driving is that when even if you’re only going to pick up something or do something very fast, put out your cars engine. By keeping a steady speed you don’t use as much fuel as when you accelerate or stop really fast.
  7. If you travel by airplane a lot in a year, try to reduce the number of your flight. Airplanes have a great effect of global warming.

You might think what would it change if I did these things, but every single person in the world can change something. Also, try to convince your neighbors and friends to follow these simple ways.
