Should Alberta Stop Oilsands Projects?

This article is kind of based on an assignment i was given in school, the assignment was to write a paragraph about whether or not we thought that the Oilsands in northern Alberta are a good thing or a bad thing. this is what i think…

I think that the oilsands in Northern Alberta are a good thing because it is the main source of income for Albertas economy. You might have seen the interview with President Obama saying that the Oilsands are producing too much C02. The reality is that the US is producing more C02 by using this oil! If they want the oilsands to stop polluting then i guess they better stop buying and using oil! That’s definitely not going to happen, from what a lot of people are saying, the US NEEDS the oil in order to economically survive! Planes, cars, mechanical equipment, and construction vehicles all need oil, stop using all of those things and we will stop making oil! It’s that simple, stop buying and using the oil! Another reason why i am saying that the oilsands projects are a good thing is my brother in law works for Syncrude which is one of the biggest oil companies in Canada.
