Should Britain Join The Euro?
by This one has been going on for years, the debate covers a wide range of issues and there are many motivations for people to be both for and against it; such as the loss of control over our currency if we lose the Pound, simplified trade with our neighbours with a unified currency and the tourist industry no longer being at the whim of the exchange rate with the Euro.
In many ways it would be better for Britain to join the US Dollar. We have more in common with the US, it would be more popular choice than moving closer to the French and at least the Americans speak (almost) the same language. Also they have only mounted one attack against the British Mainland which is more than can be said about our European neighbours!

But of course this is not going to happen while it is called the US Dollar. It needs a less country specific title if the US would like more countries to use the Dollar as their primary currency. I suggest that the US should rename their national bank to something like “the Global Bank” or “GB” for short. I’m sure the majority of people in Britain would be much happier to ditch the GB Pound if we could join the GB Dollar instead.

Yeah, it’s quite a decision you face there. If it’s GB dollar, it could also mean Great Britain dollar. Just a thought.
