Should Penalties for Animal Cruelty Be More Severe?

Me personally I think the penalties should be more severe. Animals have feelings just like us. they cry,eat,use the bathroom like we do. God put animals here to co exist with us,because animals are apart of his great creation. When you hit an animal or abuse it,it’s like abusing god because animals are apart of god. People who abuse animals have no emotions and issues within themselves that only they can deal with,so they take their frustration and anger out on the animals. All animals want to do is be loved and part of your family,but yet you betray them when you abuse them! People who abuse animals should be tried like you try a murderer for killing somebody! To be honest Micheal Vick got off mighty easily. He should have got a longer sentence,it shouldn’t matter if he is a famous person, he should be treated like us “infamous” people get treated. really 23 months sentence? what good is that going to teach him? Animals may not have rights like humans have but they have feelings like us. Until society recognize animals as equal to animals and people are educated on animals then animal cruelty will never stop!
