Shouldn’t God Involve Himself in Administering The Earth?

Bad men have grown beyond their size and are playing havoc with our lives. Possibly we cannot contain them because we don’t know where they are and where they would hit. In the circumstances, shouldn’t we appeal to God to take over control of the happenings on this Earth.

Shouldn’t God involve Himself in administering the Earth?

In my part of the Earth (India) the date is already 9/11 – a famous land mark day.  In a few more hours, the Americans will celebrate the tenth anniversary of the bombing of the  world trade organization in which thousands of people had died.

Several eyes  will  shed liberal tears once again at the dawn of this great day over the memory of their lost loved ones.

There is a rumour that the terrorists may repeat the show not only in America but in Europe as well as a matter of celebration of the day.

Is there any method of stopping these evil men from resorting to destructive actions of this nature? Yes, we can appeal to their conscience. But they  would over rule their conscience and go ahead with the ‘kill joy’ acts. What do we do then?  The attackers  have the option to choose the date and place of their ghastly feats and it is indeed  impossible for the police force and other intelligence agencies to be present everywhere to defuse the situation before it happens.  They can only react ‘afterwards’ and seldom ‘before’.

Since Man is unable to pre-empt any destructive action, I feel we need to ask for God’s involvement in the matter.  He alone could deal with malevolent  men.  He knows who they are and where they are and what their timing will be.

God could stop them surely. But God’s answer could be, “Look here you rulers, I have given you all the authority of all kinds to deal with all types of situations.  If you need more, I could consider that demand also.  But why do you want me to do your job…?”

Our reaction for this could be only, “Lord we give up.  We cannot handle terrorists effectively. We surrender.  Please take control….”

When  millions of His children plead like this,  God has to relent and agree and ask, “All right. What do you want me to do?”  What will be your reaction if you were the President of USA?

Speaking for myself, I shall ask God, “Take control Lord.  Punish those who do wrong, who cheat, who are dishonest and notorious and generally who act against the interest of their fellow beings.  Thy punishment must be instantaneous, which might include a horrible death also and the persons concerned must at once feel that this punishment is from God for their nefarious activities.”

“Didn’t thou rule thy people, the Israelites, for forty years in the wilderness on their way from Egypt to the promised land, ruthlessly like this Lord?  No one escaped your watchful eyes. Repeat your performance Lord in the present time as well. And then the  World that Thou  hast created will be a place worth living with peace and joy and tranquility…”

No other power on Earth could deal with horrendous people and keep them under check. If every one of us prays, the Lord God would turn merciful  and take control of matters and let us live in peace.

I’d say free will says ‘no’ but He is still involved, so there it a mid-way balance I think.

Man is just born whether he becomes a terrorist or a priest is decided by socio political factors. The good and the bad exist in each of us. Human beings are too complex to be categorized as exclusively good or as exclusively bad.
