Shrinking Newspaper
A local newspaper resorting to using less paper, less news, and smaller print.
I noticed just the other day that our local newspaper is getting smaller. Not only is it getting smaller in size, it is getting smaller in pages. There are fewer pages and less items on these pages. The classifieds section is getting even smaller. The help wanted only consists of about five jops per day and they run the same ads for weeks on end. It’s getting sad that the court house notes are the largest part of your newspaper. Is the economy getting so bad that we have to resort to less news.
My grandmother is older and doesn’t see quite as well as she used to. The print is getting so small that she has a hard time seeing it. This is the only piece of mail that she looks foreward to getting every day. She is now talking about letting her subscription go due to not being able to read the print. I’m sure that she is not the only person out there with this problem. It doesn’t seem fair that they can’t atleast offer a larger print copy for people like her. They made large print a few weeks ago so why can’t they spit out a few large copies daily for the ones in need.
