Size Zero Debate Reignited Over Photoshoot for Glamour
Beautiful ‘plus-size’ model Lizzie Miller has been hitting headlines recently after baring all for Glamour magazine’s September issue – in spite of the fact she’s considered ‘too fat’ to be a model by many parts of the fashion industry.

The 20-year-old model is a US size 12-14, 5ft 11in and weighs 12.5 stone, and photographs of her posing nude for the US edition of fashion and lifestyle publication Glamour have sparked discussion about body image and reignited the debate about healthy sizes for men and women in the fashion industry.
A huge number of readers have written to Editor-in-Chief Cindi Leive in praise of Lizzie’s fuller figure and visible stomach. “The letters about it started to flood my inbox literally the day Glamour hit newsstands,” she said, “I hope it’s the beginning of a revolution.”
Lizzie’s size is smaller than the national average in both the US and the UK, and she has commented on her disappointment that she is considered a plus-size model. “It’s sad. In this industry anything over size six is considered a plus-size,” she commented.
The Glamour photoshoot by Walter Chin has generated lots of positive press for Lizzie, and consequently she is reported to have been offered a number of new modelling assignments.
Though the mainstream fashion modelling industry does tend to exclude certain body shapes and looks, this isn’t the case for all agencies within the sector. A number of leading commercial modelling agencies have been taking ‘real’ people onto their books for years.
