I WOULD LIKE TO SAY TO THE PEOPLE IN THE WHITE HOUSE AND CONGRESS GO FOR ONE MONTH TO SEE IF THEY COULD LIVE LIKE WE DO THEN THEY WILL UNDERSTAND THAT ITS NOT HAS EASY AS THEY THINK.AS LONG AS THEY GOT MONEY THEY CAN DO WHATEVER THEY WANT BUT WE CAN’T. THEY CAN GO TO THE BEACH AND HAVE FUN AND SPEND MONEY WHILE WE HAVE TO PAY BILLS AND WONDER WHEN THE NEXT MEAL IS COMING OR IF WE HAVE ENOUGH TO PAY FOR MEDS BECAUSE WE ARE SICK.FOR REAL THEY JUST DON’T CARE ABOUT US ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THEM SELF. SEE I HAVE HIV AND ITS VERY HARD TO GET MEDS BECAUSE THE MONEY I GET EVEY MONTHS GOES TOWARDS BILLS.I CAN’T EVEN GET FOOD BECAUSE I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH TO GET ANY.MAYBE ONE DAY WE WILL GET SOMEONE THAT WILL UNDERSTAND AND I HOPE THAT IT WILL BE SOON BECAUSE THIS CHANGE IS ONLY FOR THEM NOT US.

Interestingly enough the figures used to determing cost of living raises for Congress calls for a 1.5% salary increase in 2010. Fortunately for us taxpayers it’s looking like they will vote to not give themselves a raise next year. Unfortunately that doesn’t stop Speaker Pelosi from spending millions of our dollars using Air Force jets for personal use.

Their claim of energy costs dropping is false or at best misleading. While I acknowledge that when grouping together all types of energy it may be possible that the total costs have dropped; the average person has not seen a drop in their household energy cost. My local utility company has some of the lowest rates in the country. In addition to having some of the lowest base rates they invest a portion of their profit and credit some of the investment earnings to our bills. We have seen double digit percentage increases over the last two years. Even with this increase the ranking of our rates vs. other utility companies has not changed. This would lead me to believe that most other utility companies had similar increases.

This leaves me wondering if they are actually looking at energy costs or energy spending. With all the people who’ve lost their homes moving into “tent cities” and not using electricity or natural gas or those like my mother who keep the thermostat low and stay bundled in blanket it would make sense that energy spending has dropped.

HOW CAN THEY SAY WE ARE COMING OUT OF THE RECESSION WHEN THE COUNTRY IS FALLING APART AT THE SEAMS.

THERE ARE MILLIONS PEOPLE ARE HUNGRY, AND THEY NEED WORK TO STAY ALIVE.
THERE ARE ALSO PEOPLE THAT ARE DYING FROM CANCER, AIDS,STARVATION AND MANY OTHER DISEASE’S, WITHOUT HELATHCARE. THEY ARE HOPLESS AND DYING SOULS THAT ARE SOON TO BE MORE HEARD ABOUT AND PEOPLE WILL REALIZE THAT THEIR LOVED ONE’S ARE DYING AWAY FROM LACK OF NURTITION, WORK, H1N1, HOUSING AND MOST OF ALL “LACK OF HOPE” IN OUR COUNTRY TO PROVIDE FOR US AND CARE FOR US.

I AM DISABLED AND SCARED TO RELY ON THIS COUNTRY FOR ANYTHING. MAYBE MOVING TO CANADA ISN’T SUCH A BAD IDEA, HUH???
I DONT KNOW WHAT THE ANSWERS ARE BUT IF OBAMA DOESNT LOOK TO “JOB SOURCING” FOR OUR PEOPLE THAN WE ARE SCREWED.

I am not in the states but it seems to me their biggest expense (other than toilet paper for $140) is the military.
Sorry folks, it is what I see. In Canada we once had a leader for the REFORM party who wanted to take a pay cut himself, never heard another policial leader do the same… and that guy is no where to be seen today… guess he got pressured down.

By the way I used to live on part time work for minimum wage, and I never took welfare even though I was qualified, its not how much money you have its how you spend it.. put me in power and I would have your economy problems fixed yesterday

I agree, we are lucky to have 1 dollar for the rest of the month, how would the people that work at the white house like to live like we do? they get their pay checks and live high on hog, we go to food pantries for help for food to survive throughout the month. do they no, they eat steaks and so on. and as far as everything dropping in price, I’d like to know where, not here in upper Michigan, no jobs, nothing and does any body care, NO! We don’t even count.How about taking a look at us and what’s here, I’ll tell you NOTHING, this has been made a ghost town. Thanks to governor.moving everything everything out, and places that made car parts and all. but who cares, she eats good to. and it gets worse,I don’t need to say anymore,if you live here, you know what I’m talking about.

Anyone ever hear of “giving a dog a bone” well that is what Obama is doing to us. Yes, this is the first time we will not be getting our COLA increase but Hey, what about next year or the year after. Is this just the beginning of the end for us seniors and disabled people. We must start now to stop this from happening again in 2011 or 12 or whatever Obama feels like. Since his mother in law lives with him may be he would like to take me in and I can be a friend of his mother in law. Politics at its best!! I truly believed Obama when he said YES TO CHANGE and that is exactly what he is giving me change loose change that fits in my pocket. I am so sick of hearing about us paying for wars for Pakistanis, for Afghanistans when they have plenty of their own money. I am so glad Mr. Obama that you think it is okay for me to pay for the above named people to live on the money I have worked for my entire life for because you made a CHANGE. What a load of crap Pres. Obama.
