South Korea and North Korea : Old Conflict About Nuclear Provocation

Nuclear provocation by South Korea to North Korea.

North Korea (Korea), Wednesday (02/22/2012), condemned the decision of South Korea (ROK) to host a nuclear security summit next month. North Korea called the meeting as “a childish joke” and a grave provocation.

A statement from the country’s official news agency, KCNA, said that the meeting was “a childish joke”, in which the United States and the puppet group (conservative South Korean government) seeks to increase the standoff anti-DPRK (North Korea). The statement said the purpose of the summit on March 26 to 27 was to “justify the actions of a nuclear war against the DPRK and divert public attention, to achieve victory in the upcoming elections”.

South Korea’s conservative ruling party will face parliamentary elections in April and presidential elections in December.

South Korea said the summit will be attended by U.S. President Barack Obama and about 40 other world leaders, and perhaps not formally discuss North Korea’s nuclear program. The agenda will focus on ways to secure materials for atomic bombs all over the world and prevent acts of nuclear terrorism.

North Korea issued a condemnation on behalf of the Asia-Pacific Peace Committee, Committee on Anti-Nuclear Peace Korea and the Korean National Peace Committee. The statement said that South Korea does not deserve such a meeting because the country is “a base for the U.S. nuclear arsenal and the world’s largest nuclear bullet”.

U.S. deploys 28,500 troops in South Korea, but the pull nuclear weapons out of the country in the early 1990’s. The North also said that the two allies will launch an annual joint military exercises from late February to April with what he calls involving “advanced nuclear armaments in large numbers”.

Pyongyang called the summit as a “serious provocation that can not be tolerated”. U.S. and South Korean officials on Thursday will hold talks in Beijing, aimed at reviving six-party talks on North Korea’s nuclear weapons program termination. North Korea is often said that nuclear weapons require a nuclear threat to counterbalance the United States
