Starvation is Not Art. It is Cruelty
Art is one thing, cruelty is another thing entirely.
I find many things artsy, even some things that could be considered less than tasteful by some people. I do have a line though, I can’t stand anything that is exploitation, cruelty, mistreatment, and deliberate meanness. It may sound silly, but the truth is that there are just somethings out there that shouldn’t happen.
In 2007, one such disgusting piece hit the press and became huge, but for all the wrong reasons. Why it was allowed to proceed is beyond me completely. It was the instance in which a (so called) artist tied up a living animal, a dog to be exact, and allowed it to starve to death. The dog lasted quite a while before it finally succumbed to a most painful and cruel death.
These are the types of things that are supposed to put people behind bars, but somehow this guy was able to pull it off and even get money and fame for it. Now, anyone with half a heart is generally disgusted by this, but now the powers that be are actually asking him to do it again! AGAIN! They want him to take another dog, tie it up in a corner of a small room, and allow it to starve to death, all for the amusement of others.
How are we not above this? How can we even have shows where “animal cops” go and stop these very things from happening, but we are allowed to do it in the name of “art”? So does this mean that we would be allowed to watch a homeless person starved to death as long as we said it was in the name of “art”? I should certainly hope not? And, true, a person and a dog are completely different, but the concept is not. It is still murder, cruelty, and sick.
Here is a picture of the last unfortunate victim of this “artist”, and there are likely to be more if he is allowed to continue. There is a petition going to stop this from happening. If you would like to help stop it from happening again scroll down below the picture and follow the link. Please help make sure that this doesn’t happen ever again!

You can sign the petition to stop this travesty here: Don’t Let Another Dog Starve for “Art!”.
