Stick and Stones May Break My Bones, But Names Will Truly Kill Me

The real killer is in all of us.

The social parasite that is the media has now chosen its new host to feed from, teen violence. Teen violence has always been a factor in everyday society but has been shoved into the spotlight by media icons. This violence is usually in a physical manner, but verbal violence is also a major factor often overlooked. So many kids are driven to psychopathic actions by the impression mere words have left on them. I have seen confident proud kids in my school be turned into quivering masses due to hurtful words. School shooting and murders have all been started by the exchange of painful words. The internet  (Though a useful tool) has made this problem worse do to cyber bullying. The people who should be stopping this horridus plague, the parental figures, are even worse the there children. Many mothers and fathers have slandered and demeaned children that are supposedly assaulting their sons and daughters . This is a problem that only we as a social network can stop. So before you send that hurtful message or that joke you think is funny remember; broken arms and shattered legs will heal, but a damaged pride cannot be repaired.
