Sustainability

About Sustainability and its importance.

Sustainability means living within the earth’s limits, not using all the
resources and leaving some for the future generations use. It is about ensuring
the social, economic and environmental needs of our community, so they are met
and kept health for future generations. Sustainability is important because our
future depends on it. It is important because all the choices we make and the
actions we do today will affect the future. The things we take for granted
today might not even be here for the future generations. We need to make
correct choices now so we save the future. For example: If we continue
to waste water that we have today, we leave the future generations to drink
desalinate saltwater or treat contaminated water for their usage every day. The same happens with the supply of soil that have today. Without proper
care and the salinity of soil (from chopping trees) our soils will easily lose
quality enough that they will no longer be able to produce anything and not being
able to exist life. It is believed and is a fact that things in the future will
become extinct if we don’t stop Global warming. We have currently lost few
animals and plants, which the number would increase if the Climate changes lots
more due to Global warming. This Booklet is about the things that are
affecting sustainability, ways we can solve those problems and other
information regarding these issues.
