Talking with Terrorists?

All terrorists are using a time tested technique! They say they are fighting for a just cause. And peace is not possible till justice prevails. So they commit acts of terror killing innocents and proclaim that they are willing to talk. On the talking table, they force and blackmail governments to accede to some of their demands promising ceasefire. During this time of lull they continue to train and prepare for the next round of terrorist attacks. They attack again. When authorities retaliate they deliberately hide in places of worship, schools and hospitals and behind women and children. If authorities continue to take action they blame the governments of human right violation and of state terrorism. And again they say they stand for peace and are willing to talk to solve all outstanding issues. Again they come to the negotiating table and force the governments to give them more of what they want, and declare ceasefire. Now they get time to continue to prepare for next round of terrorist attacks! And the cycle goes on.

This devilish way of terrorizing the civilized world is going on for decades in Middle East, India and elsewhere. Actually they have no cause to fight! Leave alone any just cause. They only hate the way of life the civilized world enjoys. They hate the freedom women enjoy. Their thinking is rooted in the medieval ideologies of the dark ages. They want to actually conquer the world and take it to where it was in sixth and seventh century. You may pity them for their illiteracy, ignorance and backwardness. But they pity and hate you for your morals. They think that they are morally superior to the rest of the world because they do not allow their women to come out of their homes. They also think that they are going to heaven to enjoy the blissful life; and they got to die to make the world convert to their thinking.

They also believe that the short cut to heaven and heavenly pleasures is dying for their cause. To sacrifice and die for it will give them instant entry into heaven and scores of wonderful and beautiful women of heaven will be in their arms once they reach there. So while you and I want to live, they actually want to die as early as possible! So they look for a cause where there is none.

Now how you will talk to such people? Those who think that they are morally superior then you? More godly then you? Those who think that killing and dying will take them fast forward into heaven? Yes, you got to constantly engage them; but remember you are dealing not with humans but the perverted ideas that they hold dear in their hearts.

You got to fight an idea with another idea. An idea of love not hatred. And idea of peace not violence. The idea that killing humans is sin and it will take them to hell not heaven. An idea that killing self does not take anyone to heaven. An idea that values life; and not death and destruction!
