Tax Payer Money Used for Illegal Activity According to Report
by Question, Is the Quebec government, so incompetent, that it does not know how tax money is spent and are there no audits being done?
Corruption in Government funded infrastructure programs common place. It is a well known fact that in Quebec, A leaked report prepared by Quebec’s anti-corruption squad and obtained by Radio-Canada describes the province’s roadwork industry as rife with underground deals and tied to organized crime.
It went on to say that it is routine for consulting engineering firms to over-estimate the costs for the sole purpose of going over budget. And at times the same outfits, to go over budget for the sole purpose of charging the Ministry of Transportation over and above fees..
It also turns out that the report said it was rare for the Ministry in question the overage and when it does take place. The Ministry, normally settles out of court,.the investigation reports.
These overage fees, are according to the report, used to pass on the funds from the consulting firm on to political parties and or used to pay workers under the table.
So this report then implies on some levels that, the government is indirectly either knowingly or unknowingly, use tax payer money for illegal activities. Such as, the tax money is used to pay workers under the table, believe that is illegal.The tax money paid to them used for political campaigns ? Believe at best, this is immoral and criminal on any level you view it.
Of course no companies or individuals are named in the report. Suggesting that there is a real fear, of retaliation if they do so .It would also imply that the cost for naming companies or individuals would be too high a price to pay. Some very powerful outfits are above the law is the real implications and apparent reality.
It also implies that there is a reason there are no reports on Federal Activity, if there is so much corruption in how tax payers money is spent on a provincial level.This, all of this, is as of this date from what I have learned is hearsay and nothing more. But it does suggest, there should be greater third party oversight, if nothing else, but for reassurance, that tax money, is used for the purpose intended and not over charged for any, government program.
