Teen Pregnancy: Who’s to Blame
Who’s to blame for young girls having babies. Celebrities, parents, or the teens themselves.
When a teen becomes pregnant are they to blame, the parents, or society?
Why is it that the only time teen pregnancies get any sort of attention is when a television star gets pregnant?
Yes America it is happening teens are getting pregnant more and more and the sad thing is that It’s nothing new. It never went away, it’s just not focused on as much as it should. So when I turn on my television or read a magazine about young celebrities, it really doesn’t phase me one bit. I just hate the fact that is the only time you hear about teen pregnancies. It really doesn’t surprise me anymore. I can remember the first time I realized a teenager could have a child, needless to say I was shocked. Freshman year in high school a classmate was absent for one whole month, and when she returned she was showing off baby photos. I still was in denial, I thought they were her sister or niece little did I know it was her child. Fourteen years old with a baby I had never heard of such a thing. I guess I sort of knew something was going on, it was almost summer and she was always wearing a jacket. This was fourteen years ago, and since that day I have seen more than I can count. For me to see teenagers having babies it’s actually become pretty normal. It doesn’t get any easier to watch these young girls try to decide what to do but who’s to blame for this.
It just blows my mind when I hear people saying their shocked that this could happen, the parents should have been watching their children, or that it only happens in urban neighborhoods . Sorry to bust your bubbles but this has nothing to do with race or where you live, this is happening everywhere.
Unfortunately it’s become sort of a game to most teen girls, they want babies to hold to the guy their dating, or they want someone to love. Do we blame the parents for not keeping an eye on their children? Sure we can do this but what is that going to do, a parent can only do so much. Lock them in their rooms until they turn 21 or follow them where ever they go let me just say It’s not possible.
Do we blame the teens because they should know better? Sure we can do this are they going to care, probably not. Will blaming them stop them from going out there and doing this again, No. Having a baby is not as glamorous as celebrity teens make it seem, babies do need to be taken care of and it’s a lot of hard work. So what needs to be done to help prevent teen pregnancies, honestly I’m not sure anymore I guess all we can do is just let nature take it’s course..

Lady, I apologize, but I’m 19 with 2 children and I seem to be handling my family just fine. Maybe if you worked on your grammar and education things wouldn’t be so horrible on your side of the fence. Get a life and STOP bashing teen mothers. They’ve got enough to deal with without the help of another suburban house wife telling them that sex is a crime.
