Teenage Pregnancy

Teenage pregnancy is one of the worst nightmare this country is facing now. Young teenage girls from ages 14 to 15 years old are having children. Most of these young teenage girls bodies are not fully develop to handle the changes it goes through when delivering a child. It’s like children having children. In high school there are more than 10% of the girls at age 14 is getting pregnant bringing, unwanted children in to the world. I don’t think they plan on getting pregnant but, maybe they think of it as a form of enjoyment, to them and some do it because their friends are pressuring them into it, because they are also doing it. I think that all high schools should teach safe sex to the children. Will it make a difference? Well!!! we won’t know unless we try.

Teenage pregnancy in the undeveloped countries is usually outside of marriage. Teenage pregnancy has caused extra health risk to both mother and child because they didn’t get proper postnatal care, which is very important to all pregnant woman. So they experience a higher risk with pregnancy such as; high blood pressure, with its complication and premature birth and also a low birth weight. Normally it interrupts’ these young mothers school lives and other plans. Most of them try to hide their pregnancy from their parents. It some times create an emotional crisis resulting in feelings of shame and fare of everyone finding out.

In most cases the teenage girls end up taking a abortion or in some instances their parents force their child to have the baby     and then give it up for adoption. It also affects the young men lives as well, they have to man up and take care of their responsibility, mainly by dropping out of school and get a job and take care of their child.
