The 2012 Apocalypse Believers Plan to Flee to The French Mountains of Bugarach for Refuge

Local Inns are said to have received many calls for bookings from people wishing reserve rooms and mobile homes from the beginning of December 2012 to the end of January 2013.

The rocky mountains of Bugarach in the remote and poorest areas of France are being considered by many USA believers in the Mayans apocalypse of 2012 as the place to go for refuge come December 21 2012. This lonely area has for a long time attracted nature lovers and hikers but it looks like this is going to change very soon because reports of alarm from the Mayor of Bugarach say US believers in the 2012 apocalypse are planning to flock here for divine refuge.

The Mayor of Bugarach, Didier Gromaire, has already alerted the authorities to the fact that there are clandestine moves by USA citizens and perhaps, those from other countries to flock here for a safety camp next year. These people who are referred to variously as the Esoterics or people who believe in the end of the world in 2012, think Bugarach Mountains will protect them from the impending apocalypse.

Inn Bookings and Tickets are already on Sale

According to the Mayor, some websites in the US were already selling tickets to fly away to Bugarach and this is worrying a lot of the Bugarach locals. Many here, including the  Mayor, do not want to see Bugarach transformed into a safe haven for apocalypse believers and lunatics. There are even reports that some strange people in white robes have been sighted in the mountains and forests of this remote region of France close to the border with Spain. Many of these Esoterics believe the mountain of Bugarach is a sacred place that will protect them from the end of the world. Others even believe that on doomsday, they will be carried away to safety under the mountains of Bugarach. Local Inns are said to have received many calls for bookings from people wishing reserve rooms and mobile homes from the beginning of December 2012 to the end of January 2013.

The Sacred Mountain Of Bugarach

The peak of Bugarach has long been called “the sacred mountain”; geologists say that soon after the mountain was formed, it exploded and the top landed upside-down. The mountain is also said to have inspired French authors like Jules Verne in “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” and American filmmakers like Steve Speilberg in “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.”  Several reports circulating on the Internet even suggested that former President Francois Mitterrand visited the peak by helicopter, and witnessed a halo of cloud shaped like a spaceship around the summit and that planes never fly over the mountain because of supposed magnetic waves.

Those who go there, will be foolishly wasting their time and money, for 12 – 21 – 2012 will just be another day, pretty much like any other.

I plan to have a “Not the End of the World After All” party on that day.
