The Big Deal Out of Nothing
Blowing things out of proportion seems to be common these days especially in the western world thus causing unecessary negative reaction not deserved.
Recently i was watching an old episode of tyrabanks and the topic was african hair with our big afros ,and she was discussing why its wrong for black americans to straighten(weave, palm there hair) it was made out to be such a big issue claiming that straightening afro hair has something to do with slavery………………… It got me thinking gosh its just hair and why should such a simple issue be blown out of proportion.
Maybe its because am african that i do not see the big deal and how hair can be racialised because i have no attachment whatsoever to the whole talk of slavery
Maybe it hurts as the afro americans feelsad about slavery but i think that because thry hang on to the ghosts of the past that they feel that every closeness to the white race is racist but i think they ought to move on and thus need to stop feeling like children of slaves but more like children whose heritage is in africa and try to leava up to there heritage with good morals and values.
Thus the need to lose the inferiority complex that goes along with a ghetto attitude because black culture is african culture and its sad to see that the representatives of this are the most…… even to africans with their ghetto attitude, baggy jeans slung etc
One thing that is overated is the word nga and its sad to see that many african americans would rather describe themselver s nigas
NIGAGER child of an ex slave who rose above the challenges of racisn to provide an open door for opportunity to unlock more doors and achieve success
GHETTO seen as a person not willing to take up opportunity and not willing to learn or fit in in a world against people who have/are forgeting slavery and see squals and no need for favouring the minority as the field is being levelled
