The Church Steps
by Miracles are happening everyday, we just have to be open to them.
On the church steps sleeps a homeless man, he sleeps there every night with his dirty blanket and a worn coat he uses for a pillow to rest his head. He is a sad man wondering the streets all day, begging for food and money. He knows everyone will walk by and pretend he is not there, but he lives in hope that someday someone will stop and ask are you hungry, come with me and I will buy you something to eat.
Another day of being on the streets has taken its toll on this homeless man, he heads back to the church steps, where he sits for awhile waiting for the church doors to close for the evening, so that he can bed down for the night. The last person leaving the church is a young man, on his way down the steps he leaves a brown paper bag, inside the bag is a clean blanket, a small pillow and some fresh fruit, he had not gone unnoticed on the church steps.
