The College Dream Lost
Our Children worked hard to get good grades and have been accepted at good universities however we cannot afford to pay for them to go.
What has happened to the right to an education?
Our children work hard to stay in school and to make good grades so they can go to college and start their life with a good career and a chance to make a good living.
Where and how is that going to happen today? The tuition has gone up and the jobs have been lost, so how are we to give the college dream to our children? I am sure every parent is asking themselves this question and also feeling very bad and as if they have let their children down for not being able to pay for the college that has accepted them.
The dream of an education in today’s world is just that a dream even in the grade schools we have to pay for everything, when I was growing up my parents never had to pay for pencils or paper or toilet tissue for the schools and we should not have to pay for it today, the states have lotteries that is supposed to be giving the schools money so if they are asking us to purchase toilet paper there is a big problem with the way the lottery is being run in each state.
Do we not pay taxes and so our children not have a right to a proper education? What have we become?
