The dealing never stops in DC
Sometimes there are deals made in the dark…

Last week Congressman Bart Stupak, the Democrat from Michigan made a big deal of “standing by his principles” by refusing to vote yes on the health care bill. He said because it would provide federal tax money for abortions.
Stupak, along with the rest of his pro-life coalition changed their votes after President Obama promised to issue an executive order saying that the health care bill would not provide for tax payer funded abortions. The bill is now the law of the land with the abortion language unchanged. Executive orders do not and can not trump the law.
Without Stupak and his coalition’s change of heart, the health care bill had no chance of passing.
On Friday, about the time he decided that his conscience was satisfied about his abortion concerns, Stupak, in what appears to be an amazing coincidence, received $726,409 worth of federal funding for airports in his district.
You can read the press release from Stupak’s office at:

I cannot help but wonder whether it was his conscience that was satisfied….This is another deal in DC that should be remembered by all.

Point made Phill. Very well written. What ever it takes, I DON’T WANT MY TAX DOLLARS PAYING FOR ANYONE’S ABORTION EITHER. No matter what the reason is for the abortion. I strongly DO NOT support abortion. The American Gov’t shouldn’t either. It is a sad state of affairs for money to be given just at that time. It does seem “fishy” and if it was a bribe that is wrong. It’s just such a mess of politics and in some cases idiots putting 2 + 2 together and making 5. Too big for me and I am sure for alot of other people. Together we can have power in numbers. But I don’t see that happening either. Separatists have a control on the Country. BIG problem. Revolution coming from many, many angles. Just a mess.

It is mind blowing the back room deals that went on to pass this bill. Sadly this was not the only one, but I do think that it was one of the most important ones. This man made a big deal about his moral objection to the bill, but then contradicted his own morals to vote for it. To me, that is even worse than the cornhusker deal and alike….at least those people did not throw their own moral beliefs in the garbage.

More double dealing politics. It’s with us always. You vote the old one out and the new one takes up the same old ways. It’s the good ole boy network.
