The Death Penalty

A short essay discussing the death penalty and issues it has caused America. It gives information on sides that support and oppose the ultimate punishment.

While the death sentence is still around many people will still be displeased by the fact that people are being killed by our government. Our nation is held to the highest standards and we still have people being killed legally within our borders. But there is reason for such things. The crimes the convicts who sit on death row (or “the final mile” as called by prison guards (The Motion Picture The Green Mile)  are heinous crimes worthy of ending one’s life. Although costs, methods, and convicts are controversial the death penalty is still around. There has to be a reason the U.S. government has kept such a thing around for the past 34 years. As time progresses we will finally know what has, and will become of the death sentence in the United States of America.

very interesting read…not sure how I feel about it…my concept is that I myself have not been put here to judge and that those who commit a crime will have their judgement day…but then again, I have not been put in a situation either to have lost someone close to me due to someone else.

A controversial subject. Personally, I don’t think I could send another human being to his or her death.
