The Death Penalty

The death penalty, also known as capital punishment, is a punishment that is used to execute a murderer or other criminal, usually by means of the electric chair.

In my opinion, it is a humiliating punishment, which puts the state at the level of criminal. It is psychological torture, as the condemned know in advance that they will be executed. The death penalty should be banned, because the family (which usually has nothing to do with the murder) is also suffering. However, if the criminal is sentenced to jail, his family can see him. Furthermore, what if someone is executed and then it was discovered that he was innocent? Reverse gear cannot be given. But … what if that individual was sentenced to serve a stay in jail? Then he would release and that’s it.

Killing someone is a form of punishment a thing of the past … is a shame that in civilized countries like the United States continue to commit such atrocities.

Ultimately, the death penalty is a cruel and shameful for society. It should be banned immediately.
