The Evil Weed

How dare our government insult our intelligence by keeping marijuana in the same category as drugs that kill thousands of people everyday, either by overdose or gang related activity. How dare our government take such a negative approach to trying to send a positive message about what you should be doing, as opposed to what you shouldn’t be doing. We have been screaming NO DRUGS for so long, we have initially made the problem worse. We need to encourage our youth to be professional athletes, scientists, lawyers, doctors…etc. Anything you want to be in life to be successful and respected, those choices keep you from drug use. You have something there that is more important, if you have a life and friends and family that mean everything to you, that you can lean to for support, that encouragement helps make a better person who makes better choices. We need to stop thinking talking to our children about not doing drugs is what works, but what they could be doing instead of drugs is a better move in the right direction. Even if all drugs were legal, we all still have the freedom of choice not to do them. However, in my mind, marijuana should be nothing worse than smoking a cigarette, or taking a xanax. If we are going to allow people to ingest these poisons into their bodies, we should be allotted the choice of a more natural remedy.

We are already allowing people to do things to their body that are extremely more dangerous than marijuana but because its legal, THAT makes it OK. If smoking a little bit of marijuana makes you feel good with no negative side  effects. Why can’t we at least have that? Especially when my Doctor is willing to shove a pill down my throat that might not be safe in two years? I want that option, don’t you?  So all those law makers out there that are beginning to see marijuana in a new light, welcome to the sunshine! Now lets get everyone else out of the dark ages!
