The Future Vs The Past

I often wonder how our ancestors communicated with each other without the things that are “Needed” today. My German ancestors didn’t need Cell phones to keep in contact with another. I do not believe that my Irish ancestors had lights and lamps to see each other. I do not believe that my Cuban ancestors had televisions to watch. I do not believe that my Black ancestors had video gaming to play on their spare time.
Why are the people of today so damn dependant on robotic treasures and what not? We survived thousands of years without them. I use to live in a bad neighborhood growing up, and I use to see people steal car radios, televisions, DVD players etc. I actually had my first bike stolen from me and it just shows that our ancestors were more humble. As time went on, human kind became more cruel, rude and arrogant. We are living for today and that is what’s going to destroy us. Our ancestors lived so the future could be as good as it is.
Is it fair that the future may not even know what a polar bear is due to global warming? Our future as we know could be gone tomorrow because of all the occurring problems and diseases. If I had an option of living in the past or the future, I would choose the past. I really would like to see how life was back then. People are always complaining about not having the best clothing and not having the best cell phones and not riding the best cars. People back then didn’t have a place to rest their heads, no corner stores, no cell phones, no games, no education, no nothing but each other. What the hell are people really complaining about? It just shows that there may not be a future unless we get our priorities straight and keep our Egos in check…

A very thought provoking write! I think technology has certainly changed things and I am not quite sure about if it is for the better. When I was a kid I was told to go outside on my bike and play now kids run to their gaming consoles and they wonder why obesity has become so widespread! Although I think as far as you go back humans have always lusted and have had greed in their hearts always wanting more. Excellent write Diverse.Very enjoyable read!
