The Good Samaritan

A good Samaritan sent in the time of trouble by god.

Some one this week said to me its hard times and I have to make even harder decisions on where I spend the little money I make.

I to have felt the crunch

Lately I have been even cutting back on my writing time. Which was and still is my passion?

I realized today that my time in front of the computer or TV has all but gone.

I am spending more hours trying to keep food on the table and a roof over my families head.

My off time spent planning and re-planning what my next move will be to bring in the same amount of money I was just one year ago and that money was just enough to get by.

I remember when the gas prices started to climb up saying to my wife before you know it a man will not be able to afford to live in America.

Little did I know at the time the struggles that we were about to face on the home front.

Every one could feel something in the air.

Yes, there was a storm coming that was going to shake the foundation every one I know stood on.

We had done what most people had done.

We planed for what we thought would be the worst.

We said come what may we are strong and we will survive.

The blood that runs in our veins comes from a long line of people who have seen worse times then these.

Yet as I sit here and write to you all I have to say many of the strongest survivors, I have ever had the privilege to know.

Are now slowly falling over the edge vanishing before my eyes as the stormy economy eats the very earth we call home under are feet away.

Many people who have made the very statements that it cannot happen to me have long sense

Have gone out of business

Places my wife and I considered special are now empty building shells with boards on the windows.

Friends that worked in these places now part of the unseen human toll of broken men and women struggling to make ends meet on unemployment and scared to death when those small checks are late or canceled for one reason or another.

However, that being said I see god’s hands working on every corner and every street.
