The Good Side of Video Games
Games have a bad reputation for always causing kids to be violent, but this paper explains the good things about video games.
Video games made by Wii help burnt victims to move. How is this possible? By playing the video games, the burnt victims’ skin grafts stretch as discovered by doctors. Skin grafts are used to heal damaged areas of the body. The moving and stretching of skin is important to keep grafts as pliable as the skin around them. Patients would have to go through painful rehabilitation exercises, were it not for video games. Their minds are also kept off the discomfort as they are having fun (“WII KEEPS BURNS VICTIMS MOVING”).
Playing video games help kids with ADHD, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. The video games improve learning by teaching the children to self-regulate brain-wave patterns. While the kids are playing the video games, it will shut down if they zone out. Therefore, this encourages them to improve focus and concentration. The video game helps to control brain-wave activity.
All in all, video games do have some good points. They help children and people with serious disorders, patients to regain movement, and to help people get active and relieve stress. Some video games are educational. Video games are good for many reasons.
