The Killing of Whales

The people of Japan say killing a whale isn’t as bad because there are plenty of whales out there and it’s no more worse then killing farm animals. For some Japanese it’s a culture so it shouldn’t be illegal. “I understand that they feel like that, but it doesn’t give them the right to stop us. All people have the right to decide how to live based on their culture. Eating whale meat is a part of our culture, and we want to protect it”, said Takanori Nagatomo. The Japanese also hunt for whales because they only need to do scientific research to improve their knowledge of whales. “We conduct this research so that we can properly manage whale resources”, said Takanori Nagatomo.

Killing whales is not a good idea since the extinction of whales is much closer and half of china doesn’t agree that killing is necessary because it’s not needed. “When ships return to Japan, the meat will go straight to market even though most people in Japan never eat whale”, said Mizuki Kitana. Killing whales has gotten worse over the year, which results in a lot quicker extinction and it is said that they only do some hunting for scientific research but then why make double killing. Japan the killers of whales are the next generation of killing the most pregnant whale because according to Japanese government they have killed 56% of pregnant whales which contained the new little generation of whales. Japanese Have killed 1000’s of whales and more will be killed as whales disappear from the world. One of the excuses that Japanese have is it’s their culture but killing such creatures to extinction doesn’t make sense to such traditions. The government talks about our tradition of whaling, but there’s nothing traditional about hunting in the Antarctic using modern ships/equipment to drive whales of extinction”, said Mizuku Takana.

In my opinion the killing of whales is too much for a year or even a day because it’s doubled and they are pretty extinctive animals. It’s cruel to kill something that’s pregnant, it may be their culture but they should stop and open their eyes to see what they are doing and also what is the point of calling it a tradition when half of Japan doesn’t even want to see whale meat. They are killing whales and also dolphins now, as one would kill cockroaches and rats because obviously they don’t care.
