Political instability and a large percentage of the population and GDP in Agriculture. While people in most places already know civil wars and coups stunt development, let this be a warning to all those chatting about farming as crucial to development. I.e. If you look at the 10 nations at the opposite end of this spectrum, Farmers as a percentage of population is in single digits or close to it. Notice the obvious correlations?
Political instability and a large percentage of the population and GDP in Agriculture.

While people in most places already know civil wars and coups stunt development, let this be a warning to all those chatting about farming as crucial to development.

I.e. If you look at the 10 nations at the opposite end of this spectrum, Farmers as a percentage of population is in single digits or close to it.
