The Pro-humanity Debate

Put aside for concerns for a fetus’s right to life; women who have already been born are having their right to life violated by abortion methods that are killing them.

While the world argues, women are dying. Why do these women perform abortions on themselves in spite of risks to their health and their life? The answer is both simple and complicated. The simple answer is that these women feel like they have no other choice. Women would not risk death for an abortion if there were alternatived. However, each situation is complicated. It is impossible and impractical for world leaders to legislate who can and who cannot receive and abortion. Politicians will never know the difficulties that each woman faces when comtemplating an abortion. They must simply accept the fact that more than 67,000 women are dying a year as a result of unsafe abortions, regardless of the reason that drove them to seek an abortion. In the end, it doesn’t matter why women are willing to die in order to have an abortion. These women know the risks and are willing to sacrifice their lives in the name of reproductive rights, if necessary. The real question should be how long will women of the world have to wait before someone takes action against the crisis threatening humanity? Why are world leaders not willing to help these women who are trapped, forced to decide whether it would be better to live a life they did not choose or risk death to protect the life they have now? The United Nations must take a stand against the unnecessary deaths of those 67,000 women. These women need access to more reliable contraceptives and safer abortions. Without these, the women of the world will be forced to continue receving unsafe abortions. Without these, women will comtinue to die. Is the world ready to be pro-humanity yet?
