The Role of Schools in Bullying

Is your child picked on at school?

Believe it or not, the school district where a bully may also be a student or not can be sued for the criminal behavior of any bully who injures, assaults and/or kills a person on the property of such a public owned facility. That is why law enforcement is assigned to each school where children are being educated or somehow enjoying an activity provided by the school district, city, county or state.

Therefore, it is the responsibility of every child to report such behavior to the school administrator the criminal behavior of any person who seeks to cause harm to any other person. Such criminal behavior also includes the taking of the property of any person, such as the taking of money, books, bicycles or any other kind of property.

It is the responsibility of the people who are in charge of the operation of every school to insure the safety and well being of every student who receives an education from the educational institution in question. Besides being injured or killed by a bully the child can be injured or killed in many other ways, including a fire, a fall, a medical emergency, such as becoming sick or even getting food poisoning from the food served in the school cafeteria.

It is the implied legal responsibility of the educational institution to insure that the child will also be returned home safely if the child is transported to and from the school within a school bus. What responsible parent would send their children in harms way? It is the law that every under age child receive an education within the United States of America. So, every parent must comply with the laws that are in place. In so doing each parent fully expects that no harm will come to their child or children while in the care of the people who provide such an education to the children in question.

Like it or not, it is very likely that every child will be hurt on the property of a school by playing sports, an accident, a fight with another child or become sick and require the care of a doctor. The worst thing that can happen to any child is for that child to live in fear of being beaten and/or abused by a bully, thus causing that child to not want to go to school every weekday.

Most bullies suffer from a mental disorder that causes such abnormal behavior. Such people truly do need to be removed from the population of those who are otherwise normal children. The parents of such abnormal children should be required to seek medical care for their abnormal children because they too can be held responsible for any injury or death that is caused by their abnormal children. However, it is unfortunate that a criminal act must first be committed before any action can be taken by a school administrator and/or law enforcement. Is your child as safe as you believe that he or she is safe while in school?
