“The Spellbound Heart” Author Interview 1/12/2012
An Interview with the author of the book "", Oscar Trejo Jr. Various thoughts from the author!
Q. 1: What makes your work so enduring and captivating to everyone who reads “The Spellbound Heart”?
A: It’s simple… Research! You see, rather than just jotting down random things that pop into my mind… I spend hours and days on end, researching certain aspects of each poem so that the end product would be more enjoyable and more on point for my many readers.
Q. 2: Your writing career has been a huge success so far. A lot of people would like to know why don’t you just drop the dollar stores and just pursue a full time writing career?
A: Well… You know, I’ve thought about doing that but at this point in time I really don’t see myself doing that… at least not yet. Even though I would love to keep my simple ordinary life that I currently have… I do know that at some point down the road, if I ever want to be taken seriously and have greater success, traveling will no doubt be a must.
Q. 3: It’s no secret; you’ve been gone from Family Dollar for two months… Is there anything that bothers you to this day concerning your former Store Manager?
A: I know what it was like working for her… Her unprofessionalism speaks volumes… but if anything bothers me most about her it would be how she ruined and destroyed so many FD careers by forcing new workers to quit and leaving bad reviews for each. Having worked and mentored some of those new workers (While I was there), I could no doubt vouch for some of them. They were good workers… They just needed to be shown with patience the correct way of doing things around there… Something that Jessica never understood.
Q. 4: In your opinion… What are your thoughts about Dollar General and Family Dollar?
A: In my opinion, and I do mean this in the most sincerest way possible… but I do think that Family Dollar is just light years ahead of Dollar General. The only part of the job that DG beats FD would be how they unload truck but other than that, Family Dollar is just Way ahead of them.

Great interview. Few Triond writers get away from the computer and do something to write about. I’d like to see more.
