Thrill vs.. Guilt

Know the right or wrong, because what may be thrilling in the beginning, may end you up guilty.

In our world today, we are at an age when we want to discover new things all around us.  We want to try something new in our surroundings in order to be unique.  We want to prove to ourselves that we can do whatever we want and we can try anything.  But most of the teenagers now are very open-minded.  If they can see something, which are attractive to their eyes or sense, they will try it.  And not thinking that this will lead them to problem or danger.

One of the things that teenagers are experiencing now is drug addiction.  Drug addiction is a state of periodic or chronic intoxication produced by the repeated consumption of a drug (natural or synthetic). Its characteristics include: (i) an overpowering desire or need (compulsion) to continue taking the drug and to obtain it by any means; (ii) a tendency to increase the dose; (iii) a psychic (psychological) and generally a physical dependence on the effects of the drug; and (iv) detrimental effects on the individual and on society. In simple terms, Drug Addiction is a state of psychological dependence on a drug liable to have a damaging effect.

People use them to escape feelings of isolation, and to feel a sense of unity with everything and everyone around them. The appeal is that they change the way a person feels and perceives the world around him/her. Users take them to feel more sociable, relieve boredom, and forget problems. And teenagers now want to take drugs so that they can be “high”, “in” and can be famous to the crowd. Another reason is that, if they take drugs they will be more alive, graceful and aggressive.  Another reason is because of lack of love from their family and love ones.

But teenagers must think first, that even if they will have the feeling of satisfaction if they will take in drugs, there are some consequences that they need to face. If you’re dependent to drugs, your life will be miserable. It can destroy your life because we all know that drugs can be thrilling in the beginning but guilt at the end.
